Creating and Revising HubSpot Invoices (Video Walkthroughs)
Two recorded, real-time walkthroughs of building an invoice in HubSpot and using the Revise Invoice button. Watch alongside the written Create an Invoice in HubSpot procedure — these videos follow the same steps, just recorded live with real product SKUs.
Basic Invoice Creation and Revise Button
Shows both ways to start an invoice — from the Invoices list (Revenue → Invoices) or from a Deal — associating a Contact (company is picked up automatically), and adding line items via the product library picker. A new invoice stays numbered INV-DRAFT until it's revised. Covers saving a draft at any point, setting quantity, hitting Revise Invoice to pick up price tiers and quantity discounts, and then Create, which is what actually syncs the invoice to QuickBooks and brings back the sales-tax line. Also shows how to move the line-items card higher in the preview panel if it starts out lower on the page (pencil icon on the card → Edit default card).
Breakout Expansion and Reporting Bugs (Advanced)
A more advanced walkthrough: one invoice with all three item types — a breakout, a bundle, and a flat item — to show breakout expansion in action. Confirms the same split described in How HubSpot ↔ QuickBooks Sync Works: breakout expansion happens on the HubSpot side (so the invoice looks the way people are used to from MOM, with the breakout's contents shown as their own zero-dollar lines under the parent breakout SKU), and bundle expansion happens on the QuickBooks side only — a bundle's contents are not expected to appear as separate lines in HubSpot. Also shows using the in-app Feedback button to flag a doc gap, and Issues to see what's been reported.
Known bug surfaced live in this recording, not yet confirmed fixed: on invoice 1065, after revising and creating, the invoice ended up with two shipping & handling lines instead of one, and still no tax line even after Create (a missing tax line is expected if you revise before create — Create is what actually tells HubSpot to sync to QuickBooks and bring tax back — but not after). A flaky internet connection during recording may have contributed, so treat this as a reported, not necessarily reproduced, bug. Check Issues before assuming it's still open, and don't assume a duplicate shipping line or missing post-Create tax line is something you did wrong.
